Organizational Context

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is a UN organization established in 1949 to provide assistance and protection to approximately 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and Gaza. UNRWA's mandate includes education, healthcare, social services, and emergency assistance, making it the largest UN operation in the Middle East. This role reports to the Senior TVET Instructor or Deputy Principal of a Training Centre.

Job Purpose

This Vocational Training Instructor role is crucial for supporting the design, development, and delivery of learning programs in Aluminum Fabrication and Installation. The incumbent will be responsible for creating inclusive training plans, facilitating learning in workshops and classrooms, and employing adult learning strategies, including accommodating trainees with disabilities. A key aspect of the role involves assessing trainee progress through formative and summative evaluations, ensuring alignment with UNRWA's TVET Quality Assurance Framework. The instructor will also contribute to maintaining employer linkages, utilizing labor market information, and supporting TVET greening and digitalization initiatives. Collaboration with colleagues to foster a respectful and disciplined learning environment is essential, alongside implementing and reporting on Occupational Health and Safety measures.

Responsibilities

The Vocational Training Instructor will support the design and development of learning programs and curricula, including competency analyses and drafting learning materials. They will facilitate school-based and work-based learning, manage training venues, equipment, and resources, and develop inclusive training plans. The role involves employing adult learning strategies, accommodating diverse learner needs, and integrating Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) and core skills. Assessment of trainees through formative and summative methods, including OSH and core skills, is a primary duty. The instructor will also maintain employer linkages, utilize labor market information, and support skills gap analysis. Applying quality assurance processes, contributing to TVET greening and digitalization initiatives, and collaborating with staff to ensure a positive learning environment and adherence to OSH standards are also key responsibilities.
