Travel Document Client Services Intern
Organizational Context
This internship is based within the Travel Document and Client Services Section (TDCS) of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). The section is part of the Central Support Services within the Division of Administration. The role focuses on enhancing client services through improved information dissemination and application processes.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this internship is to support the Travel Document and Client Services Section in redesigning and producing public information materials using multimedia and digital tools. The intern will transform complex procedural content into clear, engaging, and user-friendly formats, leveraging visual storytelling and AI-assisted media production. This initiative aims to improve client understanding of application procedures, reduce errors, and enhance the overall accessibility and effectiveness of information provided. The role contributes to streamlining client interactions and improving operational efficiency within the section.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include analyzing current workflows to identify critical information needs and client pain points. The intern will consolidate, structure, and simplify existing content into user-centered information packages. This involves designing and producing multimedia materials such as infographics, explainer videos, and interactive guides. Utilizing digital and AI-assisted tools for content generation, video editing, and visualization is essential. The role also includes developing visual narratives for step-by-step guidance, supporting the creation of interactive formats, and assisting in maintaining the section's intranet webpage. Collaboration with team members for content validation and analysis of application errors to drive content improvements are also key duties.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this UN Internship Programme. However, a portfolio in graphic design and animated or AI video production is desirable. Proficiency in using digital communication tools and platforms, including AI tools, is also preferred.
