Organizational Context

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is a UN organization established in 1949 to provide assistance and protection to approximately 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and Gaza. Its mandate includes education, healthcare, social services, and emergency assistance, making it the largest UN operation in the Middle East. This role reports to the Senior TVET Instructor or Deputy Principal of a Training Centre.

Job Purpose

This role supports the design, development, and delivery of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs, focusing on Arabic Literature. The incumbent will contribute to curriculum development, including occupational analyses and the integration of new technologies and career guidance. A key aspect is facilitating inclusive learning experiences, employing adult learning strategies, and ensuring Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) standards are met. The position also involves designing and conducting formative and summative assessments, building linkages with employers and industry professionals, and applying quality assurance frameworks. Furthermore, the role supports TVET greening and digitalization initiatives, developing and facilitating both synchronous and asynchronous training sessions, and collaborating with colleagues to maintain a positive and disciplined learning environment.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include supporting the design and development of learning programs and curricula, conducting occupational analyses, and drafting learning materials. The role involves facilitating school-based and work-based learning, preparing training venues, utilizing facilities and equipment effectively, and developing inclusive lesson plans. It requires employing adult learning strategies, integrating trainees with disabilities, and mainstreaming Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) and core skills. The incumbent will design and conduct formative and summative assessments, including practice-based and knowledge-based tests, and develop inclusive assessment plans. Building linkages with employers and collecting labor market information to identify skills gaps is crucial. The role also entails applying quality assurance tools, supporting TVET greening and digitalization initiatives, and collaborating with staff to coordinate teaching, maintain discipline, and implement co-curricular activities.
