Organizational Context
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is implementing the EU-funded 'Inclusive Societies in Latin America and the Caribbean' regional program, in partnership with BMZ/GIZ. This consultancy supports the program's activities, focusing on social registries and health information systems within the region.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to contribute to the 'Inclusive Societies in Latin America and the Caribbean' regional program by providing technical assistance and substantive support. Key objectives include supporting the development of a database for measuring community action's impact on health outcomes for IMSS, organizing a final workshop for IMSS personnel, contributing to the Seventh Regional Development Social Seminar with a parallel event on health and gender, and producing a regional report on social registries and health information systems in Latin America and the Caribbean. The role will enhance the articulation between social protection and health systems, with a focus on gender.
Responsibilities
Provide technical review and support for constructing a database to measure the contribution of community action to preventive health outcomes for IMSS. Offer technical and substantive support for a final workshop presenting IMSS technical assistance results to database users, including material preparation and event organization. Contribute technically and substantively to project activities integrated into the Seventh Regional Development Social Seminar, including a parallel event. Develop a regional report on social registries and health in Latin America and the Caribbean, incorporating a gender perspective. This report will analyze national and regional experiences, focusing on the integration of social registries with administrative and health information systems for vulnerable populations.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of experience in social science research and public policy design or recommendations is required. Desirable experience includes work related to technical assistance for Latin American and Caribbean countries, and specific knowledge of social registries and their connection to health systems.
