Organizational Context

UNRWA is the largest United Nations operation in the Middle East, employing over 25,000 staff across five areas. This role, reporting to the Donor Engagement Officer at HQ Amman, is crucial for developing and implementing a global digital fundraising engagement strategy to grow individual giving and secure stable income for the agency.

Job Purpose

The Associate Digital Marketing Officer contributes to the development and implementation of UNRWA's Individual Giving content strategy, utilizing compelling storytelling and fundraising campaigns to support individual donor growth. This involves planning and coordinating content across digital channels like email, paid media, and social media, ensuring alignment with performance data and audience insights. The role supports new donor acquisition, retention, and reactivation by tailoring content to specific audiences and donor journey stages. It also involves creating high-quality, audience-centric fundraising content, including appeals and campaign copy, and collaborating with analysts to refine content based on performance data. The officer will also provide input for reporting and presentations on digital fundraising activities.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement the Individual Giving content strategy, focusing on storytelling, fundraising campaigns, and emergency appeals. Plan and coordinate fundraising content across digital channels (email, paid media, social media, video, website), informed by performance data and audience insights. Support fundraising campaigns for donor acquisition, retention, and reactivation, tailoring content to different audience segments and donor journey stages. Create high-quality, audience-centric fundraising content, including writing and editing donor appeals, stories, and campaign copy, as well as developing visual communications like digital ads and social media assets. Collaborate with the Digital Analyst to translate performance and audience insights into content improvements. Support timely and accurate reporting on digital fundraising activities and prepare relevant talking points and presentations. Supervise and guide the Content team, ensuring high-quality fundraising communications. Coordinate with creative agencies, internal teams, and field staff on content development and delivery, preparing briefs and reviewing deliverables. Monitor emerging trends in fundraising, digital marketing, and content, recommending innovative approaches to enhance performance.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in digital fundraising or content creation, with a focus on digital acquisition campaigns, is required. International experience outside UNRWA and the candidate's country of citizenship is also required for those not already serving as international staff within the UN Common System.

Skills
