This reform aims for effective and efficient UN Development System delivery, emphasizing data, digital innovation, and a mission-driven culture. The Associate Data Analyst role is situated within the UN RCO in Bangkok, Thailand.
Job Purpose
The Associate Data Analyst supports the UN Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) in Bangkok by developing and implementing databases, data collection systems, and analytics to optimize statistical efficiency and quality. This role contributes to the UN's reform efforts, focusing on data-driven approaches to accelerate the 2030 Agenda and SDGs. The analyst will identify trends, improve data processes, and collaborate with internal and external counterparts, including UN agencies and NGOs, to share information and best practices. The position is crucial for enhancing the UN's capacity-building in statistics and informing UN reporting and evaluations through robust data analysis and monitoring.
Responsibilities
Implement and maintain databases, data collection systems, and data analytics strategies to enhance statistical efficiency and quality. Analyze and interpret trends and patterns using statistical methods, identifying key features and variables from structured data. Improve data analytics processes, including acquiring and cleaning data from various sources. Develop monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) products for UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks. Integrate monitoring milestones and indicators into common data pipelines. Assist in mapping and sequencing agency-specific technical assistance for UNCT statistical capacity-building. Conduct outcome-level analysis and contribution/attribution studies using mixed methods. Contribute to data analytics training and workshops. Prepare data, perform preliminary analysis, and support team members with data verification and reporting. Assist in the MEL cycle to reinforce monitoring and support national statistical processes.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressive experience in data manipulation and analysis, including foundational concepts like data structures and statistical methods, is required. Experience with the data life cycle (collection, wrangling, analysis, visualization, reporting) and database management (extract, transform, load) is desirable.
