Job Purpose
This internship supports the United Nations Operations and Crisis Centre (UNOCC), specifically within the Research and Liaison Unit (RLU) or the Prevention Team. The role contributes to cross-pillar analysis, research, and data-driven services for senior UN leadership. Interns will assist in monitoring political and security developments, preparing analytical briefs and visual aids, managing data, and supporting presentations. The position aims to enhance global situational awareness and crisis management capabilities, informing critical decision-making processes within the UN system.
Responsibilities
Support the monitoring, research, and qualitative/quantitative analysis of political, security, human rights, economic, social, and humanitarian developments aligned with UN priorities. Assist in preparing analytical briefs and visual aids, including maps, graphs, and infographics, for senior UN leadership using tools like PowerPoint and Excel. Help identify data sources, maintain datasets, and develop indicators for analysis products. Support the processing, organization, and transcription of structured surveys. Assist in preparing talking points and correspondence, drafting meeting minutes, and tracking senior-level decisions. Contribute to presentations to Member States by compiling and visualizing information under time pressure.
Work Experience
