Intern (Business Relationship Management)
Organizational Context
The Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) within the UN Secretariat is spearheading the digital transformation of the Organization. This internship is situated within the Business Relationship Management Section, contributing to the development and implementation of innovative technology solutions to support the UN's mission.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to provide practical experience in Business Relationship Management (BRM) within the UN's OICT. The intern will support BRMs in managing partner relationships, understanding client needs, and logging ICT service requests. The role also involves collaborating with clients to identify process improvements and support the development of ICT plans. Additionally, the intern will assist in coordinating IT services across UN system entities, contributing to the effective delivery of technology solutions and supporting the Organization's digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
Assist Business Relationship Managers in maintaining and strengthening relationships with OICT partners, understanding their needs, challenges, and priorities. Collaborate with OICT clients to analyze processes, identify pain points, and support the development of ICT plans leveraging potential technology solutions. Log and track demands and client requests for new ICT capabilities or modifications to existing ICT services. Coordinate with client users, vendors, and internal UN teams on Information Technology services. Provide administrative and substantive support for meetings and conferences, including preparing documents, drafting minutes, and managing logistics. Prepare various documentation such as training materials, operational reports, manuals, and user specifications. Support data analytics initiatives and data policy development. Assist in other IT functions as required.
Work Experience
No prior work experience is required for this United Nations Internship Programme. However, academic knowledge, project-based experience, or volunteering in relevant areas is advantageous. Experience in performance management, process redesign, innovation, or consulting projects is also beneficial.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and other desktop applications. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Hub. Familiarity with MS Power BI, Tableau, or MS Dynamics. Understanding of data analytics and data policy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders. Interest in customer-oriented service delivery and innovative ICT solutions.
