Organizational Context

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Job Purpose

Make a meaningful impact on public health in Haiti by supporting the prevention, control, and integrated management of communicable and noncommunicable diseases. This role contributes to strengthening national capacities, advancing evidence-based interventions, and promoting resilient health systems in collaboration with a wide range of national and international partners.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced technical cooperation to national authorities for the prevention, control, elimination, surveillance, and response to communicable diseases. Strengthen national surveillance, early warning, laboratory, diagnostic, and response systems. Support preparedness and response efforts for public health emergencies, outbreaks, and humanitarian crises. Provide technical support for the prevention, control, surveillance, and management of noncommunicable diseases. Plan, coordinate, monitor, and report on program activities. Support resource mobilization and represent PAHO/WHO in technical meetings.

Work Experience

Nine years of combined national and international professional experience in public health, including program design, implementation, and evaluation.

Skills

Advanced knowledge of communicable and noncommunicable disease surveillance, prevention, control, and epidemiology. Expertise in preventive public health, epidemiological research, disease control, and health services. Ability to analyze surveillance systems and develop innovative solutions. Experience in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating technical cooperation interventions. Knowledge of International Health Regulations (IHR), outbreak control, and public health emergency management. Strong project management, resource planning, and budget management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build strategic partnerships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
