It works with governments and partners to save lives, protect people on the move, and facilitate regular migration pathways. This Caseworker role supports Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTPs) in Ireland, focusing on their transition and integration.
Job Purpose
The Caseworker - Transition Support role is crucial for assisting Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTPs) within IOM Ireland as they navigate significant life changes. The primary purpose is to provide individualized casework, including comprehensive needs assessments, essential information dissemination, guidance, and action planning. This involves referring beneficiaries to appropriate support services and actively helping them access these resources. The role aims to empower BOTPs by ensuring they understand their available options, addressing barriers to independence, and fostering self-sufficiency during their transition period. This position directly contributes to IOM's mission of supporting people on the move.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting in project activity implementation and monitoring, and retrieving, summarizing, and presenting project-related data. The role involves supporting the Transition Support strategy by researching needs, identifying barriers, and analyzing service gaps for BOTPs. Casework involves assessing screening outcomes, applying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to individual circumstances, and flagging procedural issues. Coordination with accommodation centers, internal units, and external parties is essential for processing requests and administrative actions. Disseminating accurate information on services, referring vulnerable cases, and providing translation/interpretation are also core duties. The caseworker will draft status reports, correspondence, and other documentation, respond to information requests, maintain records, and organize meetings. Participation in meetings with stakeholders, monitoring implementing partners, and performing other assigned duties are also required.
