This roster will support the "Return Assistance for migrants in vulnerable Situations" Programme, providing medical assistance to vulnerable returnees.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this consultancy is to establish a flexible roster of medical professionals to provide essential medical support and movement assistance for vulnerable migrants participating in IOM-managed programs. The role is crucial for ensuring the well-being and protection of migrants with special protection needs, contributing significantly to their successful and sustainable return under the "Return Assistance for migrants in vulnerable Situations" Programme. Consultants are also responsible for completing comprehensive post-assignment documentation, such as detailed mission reports, relevant medical observations, and any required follow-up information, within agreed timeframes. Furthermore, maintaining the highest standards of professional judgment and clinical skills, commensurate with potential medical events, is essential. This includes familiarity with diverse medical conditions, expertise in managing them, understanding aviation medicine, and emergency medicine experience. Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Medical Evacuation Procedures (MEPs), and confidentiality requirements is paramount.

Work Experience

A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience is required, with experience in patient care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, intensive care, community health, travel medicine, or humanitarian response being particularly relevant. Prior experience accompanying patients or vulnerable individuals during domestic or international travel is advantageous. Experience in multicultural, humanitarian, or migration-related contexts is also desirable.

Skills
