It collaborates with governments and partners to save lives, protect migrants, address displacement, and facilitate legal migration pathways. The organization fosters an inclusive workplace to maximize the potential of migration and enhance support for people on the move. This role supports the USG serve allocation project and the Country Office portfolio.

Job Purpose

The Information Management Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating Information Management (IM) activities for the United States Government (USG) serve allocation project and the broader Country Office (CO) portfolio. This role operates under the supervision of the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCoM) and the Programme Support Officer (Response, Resilience and Recovery), in close coordination with programme and support units, the Regional Office (RO), and Headquarters (HQ). The primary objective is to ensure effective information management, data coordination, and the implementation of IM systems to support programme monitoring, operational reporting, strategic planning, and evidence-based decision-making. The role contributes to the standardization of data methodologies and reporting across units, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and donor requirements, thereby strengthening the accuracy and utility of data for IOM's operations and accountability.

Responsibilities

The Information Management Officer will provide technical expertise on data management, analytics, AI-enabled solutions, standards, and reporting to facilitate effective information exchange. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining IM systems, databases, dashboards, and reporting platforms to support programme monitoring and decision-making. The role involves standardizing beneficiary counting methodologies and indicator definitions to ensure consistency with organizational goals and donor requirements. Maintaining and enhancing the Project Development Monitoring System (PDMS) and other CO-level IM systems is crucial for data accuracy. The officer will develop and disseminate IM tools for field assessments and real-time reporting, applying data quality assurance mechanisms to safeguard data integrity. Preparing analytical reports against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for donor and institutional reporting, ensuring data protection, and guiding local IM staff through technical coaching and work allocation are also key duties.

Work Experience

Required experience includes coordinating information flows and data management, including data collection, storage, verification, processing, and analysis. Familiarity with humanitarian operations, cluster systems, and data management principles is essential. Experience with modern information management technologies, database applications, AI-enabled solutions, and data visualization is highly desirable. Prior experience with IOM or the UN System is an advantage.

Skills

Key skills include a demonstrated understanding of data collection methodologies, excellent qualitative and quantitative data analysis abilities, and the capacity to produce high-quality reports. The role requires the ability to translate planning specifications into technical briefs and formulate IM-related technical requirements. Advanced data visualization and information design skills are necessary, along with leadership capabilities in partnership building and consensual decision-making, and the ability to deliver technical training.
