Organizational Context

IOM, established in 1951, is a leading UN agency promoting humane and orderly migration. This role supports the Cash-Based Interventions (CBI) unit, managing data and systems for cash assistance, contributing to humanitarian outcomes and reporting.

Job Purpose

The Information Management Associate will support the CBI unit's data collection, protection, management, and utilization. This involves managing Unified Cash Transfer data and associated systems for storage, protection, and analysis, ensuring flexibility to address diverse humanitarian needs through cash assistance. The role contributes directly to humanitarian outcomes by supporting harmonized transfers. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in reporting and monitoring efforts, collecting and consolidating data for internal and external publications, reviews, reports, and assessments, while ensuring adherence to data sharing procedures and deadlines for various requests.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for integrated data gathering and information management across CBI activities. Assist in data collection, input, cleaning, validation, and initial analysis using tools like Excel, Kobo Toolbox, SPSS, and Power BI. Monitor data collection activities and maintain updated datasets, including population data and cash disbursements. Coordinate with the Senior Project Associate to prepare and verify data for cash assistance transfers. Support the timely generation of information products by preparing templates aligned with IOM style guides. Assist the unit in reporting efforts, including systematic cluster-level reporting for CBI activities using the 4Ws. Perform other assigned duties as required.

Work Experience

Experience in data management, data visualization, and monitoring for CBI programming is required. Extensive knowledge of data protection guidelines and principles is essential. Experience with NGOs or international organizations, familiarity with CBI programming, and expertise in ESRI ArcGIS or other GIS software are advantageous.

Skills

Advanced Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is required. Basic knowledge of Python programming is advantageous. Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Id-Design, Photoshop, Power BI, GIS, Kobo Toolbox, or SPSS is desirable. Ability to work effectively in diverse teams, under stressful conditions, and willingness to travel to field locations.
