Organizational Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Türkiye seeks a Senior Project Associate to support the coordination and implementation of labour mobility activities. This role, operating under the supervision of the National Officer (Protection) and Senior Project Associate – Protection, collaborates with the LMI Unit. It involves significant field presence and travel to support programme delivery in pilot provinces.

Job Purpose

The Senior Project Associate is responsible for supporting the coordination and implementation of labour mobility activities within IOM Türkiye. This includes managing case management processes and referrals in pilot provinces, ensuring adherence to protection principles and voluntariness standards. The role requires close collaboration with the LMI Unit and direct supervision from the National Officer (Protection). Frequent travel and field presence are necessary to effectively support programme implementation and ensure continuity of care and protection outcomes for beneficiaries. The position contributes to safeguarding vulnerable individuals and facilitating their informed decision-making throughout the mobility process.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include assisting in the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of project activities. The role involves conducting individual counselling sessions with applicants for voluntary labour mobility, ensuring informed and voluntary decision-making while adhering to protection principles. Maintaining accurate and confidential case records compliant with data protection standards is crucial. Facilitating protection-sensitive relocation arrangements, including referrals and coordination with service providers, is a core duty. The Associate will liaise with internal and external parties for administrative coordination, identify and report protection risks, and draft status reports and project documentation. Organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions, and providing on-the-job capacity building to staff are also key functions. The role includes responding to information requests, maintaining files, providing input for SOPs and technical documents, and guiding other staff members.

Work Experience

Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience in case management, counselling, referrals, and service mapping is essential. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, and victims of trafficking is highly valued. Familiarity with labour mobility programmes is also important. Willingness and ability to travel frequently for field assignments are necessary.

Skills

Essential skills include demonstrated counselling, interviewing, and communication abilities. Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement skills are required. Proven analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary. Excellent report drafting and documentation capabilities, along with good computer literacy, are also important.
