Organizational Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Türkiye seeks a Senior Project Associate for Protection in Gaziantep. This role supports the coordination, monitoring, and implementation of labour mobility activities, including case management and stakeholder engagement. The position operates under the supervision of the Senior Protection Coordinator and National Officer (Protection), collaborating closely with the LMI Unit, and may require significant field travel.

Job Purpose

The Senior Project Associate - Protection is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and supporting the implementation of labour mobility activities within IOM Türkiye. This includes overseeing day-to-day case management, managing project administration, and engaging with operational-level stakeholders in pilot provinces. The role ensures activities align with project objectives, donor requirements, and IOM policies, while adapting to evolving field conditions. A key aspect involves providing protection-sensitive relocation assistance and facilitating beneficiaries' access to services and integration opportunities. The position requires close collaboration with internal units and external partners, and may necessitate frequent travel to support programme delivery and ensure effective project execution.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate daily project implementation, monitoring activities against work plans, objectives, and donor requirements. Analyze implementation challenges and recommend adjustments. Coordinate protection-sensitive relocation assistance, including case management, counselling, and referrals, ensuring voluntary and needs-based processes. Monitor budget expenditures for compliance with financial rules and donor requirements. Collaborate with the Labour Migration and Social Inclusion (LMI) Unit and other units to strengthen referral pathways and service delivery for employment and integration. Oversee the financial, administrative, and operational management of the project. Plan and conduct capacity-building training for internal and external parties on protection-sensitive processes. Maintain coordination with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders. Prepare project reports, donor updates, and other documentation. Document and disseminate best practices and lessons learned. Supervise, mentor, and train reporting staff, ensuring performance management and adherence to IOM standards.

Work Experience

Required experience includes liaising with governmental and international organizations, project implementation, case management, referrals, and direct assistance. Experience in supervising teams, working with vulnerable groups (migrants, refugees, IDPs, trafficking victims), and in labour mobility or socio-economic integration programs is essential. Previous experience in Southeast Türkiye is an advantage.
