IOM fosters an inclusive workplace to maximize the potential of migration.

Job Purpose

This role supports IOM's regional project "Improving migration governance and access to services for displaced Afghans in Pakistan and Central Asia" in Turkmenistan. The project focuses on the socio-economic empowerment of women from Afghan and local communities through vocational skills development and self-employment initiatives. The purpose of this consultancy is to provide essential organizational and logistical support for a crafts fair and coordination meeting. These events aim to showcase the vocational skills acquired by women, promote their products, and foster connections with potential partners, employers, and customers, thereby strengthening their engagement with local authorities and public associations.

Key duties include developing an event plan, coordinating venue preparations, managing participant registration, and organizing exhibition layouts. The role involves liaising with and coordinating service providers for catering, audio-visual equipment, and venue decoration, ensuring quality and timeliness. Additionally, the consultant will coordinate participant engagement, including women beneficiaries, government representatives, the business community, partner organizations, and media. This includes sending invitations, confirming participation, and providing on-site support. The consultant will also support the event program, facilitate product presentations, coordinate meetings and networking sessions, and prepare a final report detailing achievements and conclusions.

Work Experience

A minimum of five years of experience is required in organizing events, exhibitions, fairs, forums, trainings, or coordination meetings. Experience in logistics coordination, venue preparation, and liaison with service providers is essential. Prior experience with government institutions, international organizations, or development projects is advantageous.

Skills
