Organizational Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Washington D.C. seeks an ICT Associate (G5) for a one-year fixed-term contract. This role provides crucial IT Helpdesk support to local and sub-office users, assisting with the configuration, maintenance, and daily support of IT systems and services within the United States offices.

Job Purpose

The ICT Associate will serve as the primary IT Helpdesk support for the IOM Washington D.C. office and its sub-offices. This involves providing technical assistance to users, ensuring the smooth operation of ICT systems and services. The role contributes to maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the organization's IT infrastructure by assisting in the configuration, routine maintenance, and daily support of all IT systems and services hosted within the United States. This ensures that staff have reliable access to the technology needed to perform their duties effectively, supporting IOM's broader mission.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive ICT Helpdesk support to users in the Washington D.C. office and sub-offices, including maintenance and troubleshooting of ICT systems and equipment. Monitor and maintain operational databases, identifying and resolving efficiency and quality assurance issues, and preparing clear reports. Manage installation and configuration procedures, documenting processes and ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Train users on software, application management, and office tools. Respond to user requests and resolve system and application-related issues. Maintain secure data communication channels, monitor VPN sessions, and deploy/manage ICT security software. Manage user accounts and network storage within Active Directory, ensuring security protocols are followed. Liaise with other teams and provide regular progress reports on ICT activities to supervisors. Perform other assigned duties.

Work Experience

Experience required in Networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching), network services (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WINS), workstation and server operating systems (Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016/2019), and messaging systems (Outlook 365, Exchange Online, Intune). Experience with Windows Server 2019 in multi-site environments, TCP/IP, and Office 365 is essential. Familiarity with various hardware brands (HP, Lenovo, Cisco, Apple) is needed. Web development/administration experience and prior work in international organizations are advantageous.

Skills

Advanced Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision. Discreet, client-oriented, patient, and eager to learn. Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
