Job Purpose
The Associate Monitoring and Evaluation Officer supports all aspects of project/programme/strategy monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and reporting requirements within the Coordination Office for the South Pacific (COSP). This role is crucial for the Pacific Climate Mobility Partnerships Programme (PCMP), a regional initiative focused on rights-based climate mobility action. The officer works under the supervision of the Programme Officer (Migration & Climate Change) and in coordination with other IOM units to ensure effective M&E practices and contribute to the successful implementation of climate mobility-related programmes across the Pacific.
Responsibilities
The Associate Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible for assisting in data collection, maintenance, and analysis for M&E activities. This includes filing and compiling project reports, tracking reporting schedules, and supporting the design and implementation of assessments and surveys. The role involves monitoring project indicators, liaising with M&E teams to document issues, and conducting preliminary analysis of findings. The officer will also contribute to internal guidance on feedback mechanisms, flag data quality issues, and participate in field monitoring missions. Additionally, the position provides administrative support, prepares inputs for project development, and stays updated on IOM's M&E policies and RBM requirements.
Work Experience
Required experience includes M&E and reporting aligned with donor/UN requirements, familiarity with IOM/UN rules and procedures, and experience in project development and donor liaison.
Skills
Strong reporting, writing, and research skills, particularly in M&E. Excellent communication and analytical abilities. Demonstrated knowledge of data collection tools, administration, and evaluation techniques. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. Proven ability to build effective working relationships across diverse cultural backgrounds.
