Organizational Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a UN-related agency promoting humane and orderly migration. This role supports the Mission's surge staffing needs during emergencies and humanitarian response operations. Roster members are engaged based on operational requirements, funding, and mission staffing needs, with no confirmed start date or immediate deployment.

Job Purpose

This Call for Applications aims to establish a roster of qualified candidates for potential mobilization to support IOM's surge staffing requirements during disasters, emergencies, and humanitarian response operations. While there is no confirmed start date or immediate deployment, selected candidates will be expected to be available for future assignments. Engagement depends on operational needs, response scale, funding, and mission staffing requirements. Successful candidates must be locally available and prepared for prompt onboarding and administrative processes upon selection for deployment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of emergency response activities, ensuring timely delivery of humanitarian aid. Retrieve, compile, analyze, and present data on disaster impacts and humanitarian needs to support planning. Monitor project budget implementation and support administrative and operational coordination with internal units, counterparts, and partners. Draft situation reports, progress updates, and correspondence, identifying operational challenges and recommending solutions. Organize coordination meetings and capacity-building activities. Respond to information requests and maintain project files. Perform other duties as assigned to support emergency preparedness and response.

Work Experience

Experience liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, and internally displaced persons. Prior experience with international humanitarian organizations or in a multi-cultural setting is advantageous.

Skills

Knowledge of emergency preparedness, disaster response, and humanitarian operations in the Philippines. Understanding of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), and humanitarian principles. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication, including reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
