The position operates under the supervision of the National Project Officer and Regional Coordinator.

Job Purpose

This Project Assistant role is crucial for the successful implementation of the 'Helios+' project in Crete, Greece. The project aims to integrate beneficiaries of international and temporary protection into Greek society by providing comprehensive support. The purpose of this role is to assist in delivering key activities such as employability support, Greek language courses, vocational training, and assistance for independent living, including rental subsidies. By facilitating these services, the role directly contributes to promoting social cohesion, inclusion, and the overall well-being of migrants, aligning with IOM's mandate to support people on the move and drive solutions to displacement.

Responsibilities

The Project Assistant will oversee the assigned project team, ensuring smooth coordination and task delivery. Key duties include managing the project helpline, ensuring message accuracy, developing monitoring tools, and organizing team work. The role involves performing general administrative tasks to support project implementation efficiently and in line with IOM procedures. This includes developing methodologies, creating tools and materials, and overseeing their implementation. The assistant will support the coordination of project deliverables and flow of working documents, assist senior management in effective budget monitoring, and prepare analysis and reports for resource utilization and audits. Data collection, verification, safekeeping, and updating project archives are also essential functions.

Work Experience

A minimum of one year of previous work experience is required. Experience working in a multicultural environment is preferred.

Skills

Proficiency in standard software applications. Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles. A valid driver's license with at least five years of driving experience is an advantage. Fluency in English and Greek (written and oral) is required.
