Job Purpose
The Senior Project Associate (Training) will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the project titled “Provision of Jobs and Socio-Economic Inclusion to Support Transition to Formal Employment in Türkiye.” This role involves assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities, ensuring effective monitoring of progress and budget adherence. The position contributes to IOM's mandate of promoting orderly migration and supporting vulnerable populations by facilitating pathways to formal employment and enhancing socio-economic inclusion within Türkiye. The associate will play a key part in achieving project objectives and supporting the overall mission of IOM in the region.
Responsibilities
Key duties include assisting in the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of project activities. The role involves compiling, analyzing, and presenting project data, monitoring budget implementation, and proposing adjustments. The associate will act as a focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with internal and external parties. Responsibilities also include drafting status reports, correspondence, and project documentation, as well as organizing and preparing materials for meetings, workshops, and training sessions. The position requires responding to information requests, maintaining project files, and coordinating with local authorities, partners, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves monitoring implementing partners, providing input for SOPs and concept papers, and potentially supervising other staff members.
Work Experience
Required experience includes liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs in migration management. Experience working with vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and victims of trafficking is essential. Prior experience in a multicultural setting with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions is advantageous. Knowledge of migration management, labor migration, livelihood programs, UN/donor programming, and project management is also required.
Skills
Proven analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Excellent report drafting capabilities. Good level of computer literacy. Fluency in English and Turkish (oral and written) is required, with Arabic being advantageous.
