Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN-related agency established in 1951, promotes humane and orderly migration. The Private Sector Partnerships Division (PSP), within the Office of Partnerships, Advocacy and Communications Strategy, builds private sector partnerships to support IOM's strategic priorities and engages the private sector as a key stakeholder. Job Purpose
The Head of Goodwill Ambassador and Celebrity Engagement leads the strategic development and global implementation of IOM’s celebrity engagement portfolio. This role is crucial for driving advocacy, enhancing organizational visibility, and facilitating private sector fundraising. The incumbent will oversee the recruitment, due diligence, and management of Goodwill Ambassadors and high-profile supporters. Key responsibilities include ensuring coordinated delivery of high-impact campaigns, field missions, and media outputs in collaboration with global offices. The position acts as a central interface, ensuring coherent messaging, strong governance, and system-wide alignment. It also focuses on developing and monetizing innovative partnerships to generate measurable income and donor engagement, while strengthening institutional capacity through guidance and training.
Responsibilities
Lead the global strategy for Goodwill Ambassador and celebrity engagement, ensuring alignment with IOM's mandate and priorities. Oversee the end-to-end management of the Goodwill Ambassador programme, including governance, onboarding, deployment, and relationship stewardship. Drive a proactive global talent pipeline to identify and recruit high-value celebrity supporters. Design and manage high-impact celebrity partnerships for advocacy, visibility, and fundraising, including campaigns and events. Integrate celebrity engagement as a strategic fundraising channel to drive income generation and support divisional revenue objectives. Lead comprehensive due diligence and risk management processes to uphold ethical standards and reputational integrity. Enable the strategic use of celebrities across global campaigns and lead the planning of high-profile field missions. Serve as a senior focal point for engagement with celebrities, agents, and partners, ensuring effective relationship management. Establish frameworks to assess the impact and ROI of celebrity engagement. Provide strategic guidance and build capacity across HQ and field offices through training and tools. Coordinate effectively across fundraising, communications, and operations teams. Supervise and mentor programme staff to ensure effective delivery of priorities.
Work Experience
Requires progressively responsible experience in celebrity engagement, partnerships, communications, or private sector fundraising, preferably in international organizations, NGOs, or the media/entertainment sector. Demonstrated experience in recruiting, negotiating, and managing high-profile celebrity and influencer partnerships is essential. Proven track record in designing and delivering integrated, multi-channel campaigns with measurable impact is required. Experience working with talent agents, publicists, and managers, including contract negotiation, is necessary. Experience in leveraging celebrity engagement for income generation and donor conversion is highly desirable.
