Job Purpose
The Senior Programme Associate (Food Security) will provide crucial support to the implementation of the Japan-funded Food Security and Livelihoods project in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to achieving food security objectives through effective coordination with national partners, including the Public School System and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Commerce. This involves managing and delivering trainings, facilitating the procurement and distribution of essential inputs, and actively participating in the planning, execution, and monitoring of project activities at both community and institutional levels, ensuring alignment with project goals and IOM procedures.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support for food security and livelihoods activities, ensuring adherence to project plans. Coordinate and communicate effectively with key government counterparts, including the RMI Public School System and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Commerce. Maintain organized program documentation and assist in collecting data, attendance lists, and photographs for reporting. Offer general administrative and logistical support for program implementation, monitoring, and reporting. Assist in the execution of food security and livelihoods activities as per the approved workplan. Support data collection from activity sites and partners. Attend coordination meetings and take notes. Facilitate logistical arrangements for trainings and workshops, including participant coordination and material preparation. Assist with community outreach and engagement on food production, nutrition, and livelihoods. Support procurement processes, track deliveries, and document input distribution according to IOM procedures. Maintain inventory records for project goods.
Work Experience
Experience supporting school or community-based development activities, including material and supply coordination. Experience assisting with food security, nutrition, or livelihoods initiatives, particularly within the RMI context. Prior experience with training, workshops, or community outreach is advantageous. Experience working with international organizations, embassies, or NGOs is a plus.
