Job Purpose

The Supply Chain Intern will support the operational activities of the Manila Supply Chain Unit (MSCU) under the overall direction of the Supply Chain Division and direct supervision of the Head of MSCU. This role is designed to provide interns with practical experience in procurement, logistics, and payment processing within an international organization. Interns will gain exposure to IOM's procurement systems, governing principles, and strategies, contributing to professional development and potential future employment in the field of procurement. The internship offers a valuable learning experience in managing supply chain operations in a global context.

Responsibilities

The intern will assist with the operational activities of the Manila Supply Chain Unit (MSCU). Key duties include supporting worldwide missions and offices with regular and emergency supply chain requests. The role involves preparing and issuing solicitations in the Oracle ERP system, adhering to procurement procedures and policies to ensure transparency and value for money. Additionally, the intern will coordinate the logistics of goods and services, maintain internal databases, and track contractual agreements. Support will also be provided for the timely processing of payments through the Invoice Submission Tool (IST) and participation in establishing and monitoring global Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).

Work Experience

Proficiency in MS Office and other applications such as Visio is required. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously is also necessary for this role.
