Organizational Context
The ICAO Programme for Aviation Volunteers (IPAV) deploys aviation professionals as volunteers to respond to emergencies, develop capabilities in implementing ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), and foster self-reliance in States. It operates under the Technical Cooperation Bureau and aims to assist States in addressing shortcomings and achieving effective implementation of SARPs.
Job Purpose
To provide expert aviation volunteer support to ICAO Member States, enhancing their aviation systems, responding to emergencies, and improving the implementation of ICAO SARPs. This role contributes to the development of civil aviation and supports States in meeting their obligations under the Chicago Convention.
Responsibilities
Perform duties as assigned to support the ICAO Programme for Aviation Volunteers. This includes contributing expertise to client States, maintaining and updating skills, and making valuable contributions to civil aviation development. Activities complement other initiatives addressing State challenges in meeting convention obligations.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of experience in the required field of specialization within a national or international aviation organization. Familiarity with related ICAO annexes, recommended practices, and documentation is essential.
