ICAO Roster-Airport Civil Engineering Expert

Organizational Context

Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and closing Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for these projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.

Job Purpose

To provide expert civil engineering services for airport development projects, assisting state civil aviation authorities in evaluating designs, supervising construction, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Assist in evaluating and approving design reviews, supervise construction works for runways and terminal buildings, monitor project progress against schedules, advise on quality and cost control, manage laboratory testing of materials, and prepare reports for airport rehabilitation and development.

Work Experience

Ten years of experience in construction management, supervision, planning, and programming. Experience in contract administration, works progress monitoring, cost and quality control, and handling technical correspondence is required. Experience in aerodrome design, construction, or modifications, and knowledge of aircraft operational characteristics are also necessary.
