Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for Capacity Development and Implementation projects in Civil Aviation and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To serve as a senior mechanical engineer for airport facilities, providing expertise in maintenance, construction progress reporting, and project proposal review. The role ensures the proper functioning and development of mechanical systems within airports.
Responsibilities
Serve as senior mechanical engineer for maintenance activities, report on construction progress in the mechanical field, supervise inspection of maintenance and operations activities, review project proposals for mechanical facilities, initiate corrective actions for discrepancies, review budgetary estimates for mechanical facilities, and train national counterpart engineers.
Work Experience
Extensive experience at a responsible level in the installation, maintenance, and operation of airport mechanical facilities (e.g., air-conditioning, heating, ventilating, fuel, water, sewage systems). Familiarity with latest manufacturing and design criteria, report preparation, and ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) is essential.
