Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for these projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To survey, assess, and report on electrical and mechanical installations and equipment at airports. The role supports proposals for rehabilitation and future development of airport facilities by evaluating current systems and personnel requirements.
Responsibilities
Survey existing airport electrical and mechanical installations and facilities. Assess electrical and mechanical equipment and system requirements for airport rehabilitation and improvement. Evaluate national personnel needs for equipment installation, overhaul, and maintenance. Prepare comprehensive reports for funding proposals. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Ten years of experience in installation, modification, or modernization, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical installations at large airports, including management/supervisory experience. Knowledge of high intensity approach lighting systems and visual ground aids is required. General experience in related fields like civil and mechanical engineering, and familiarity with power requirements for navaids and ancillary aerodrome facilities are also needed.
