Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for Capacity Development and Implementation projects in Civil Aviation and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To review and update airport emergency plans, conduct training for rescue and fire-fighting staff, and organize and critique full-scale airport emergency exercises. The role aims to enhance airport emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
Responsibilities
Review existing rescue and fire-fighting services and airport emergency plans. Plan and deliver classroom and on-the-job training for RFF staff and counterparts. Conduct full-scale airport emergency exercises, critique them, and propose modifications to the airport emergency plan. Prepare comprehensive reports on findings and perform other related duties.
Work Experience
A minimum of ten years as an aerodrome fire-fighter, with five years of supervisory or managerial experience in an airport RFF organization. Demonstrated experience in training RFF staff and counterparts, preparing RFF plans, and senior-level experience in managing, designing, and implementing airport emergency plans, including simulated exercises.
