ICAO Roster-Airport Architect
Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for these projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To provide expert architectural design and planning services for airport terminals and operations areas. The role involves reviewing and advising on modifications, renovations, and new designs to optimize functionality and reduce construction costs.
Responsibilities
Review and advise on modifications to passenger terminal buildings and operations areas. Inspect existing structures for renovation feasibility. Prepare conceptual space planning sketches and cost estimates for alterations and new constructions. Review master plans and preliminary designs for new airports, identifying areas for cost reduction. Prepare sections of national plans describing airport building modifications.
Work Experience
Extensive experience at a responsible level with architectural design teams for aerodromes planning. Five years of experience in airport master planning, including aviation traffic forecasts, capacity studies, noise assessment, and aerodrome zoning. Knowledge of terminal building activities, traffic flows, space requirements, and translating operational requirements into design specifications.
