ICAO Roster-Aerodrome Engineer
Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for these projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To provide expertise in aerodrome engineering for the development, implementation, and management of technical assistance projects related to airport infrastructure and services.
Responsibilities
Collect and analyze data on airport infrastructure and services, assess current capacity and service levels, identify deficiencies and propose remedial actions, revise demand forecasts, study and propose airport development options, define selected options with authorities, determine airport category for RFF services, develop airport master plans, prepare final reports on selected options, and examine airport administration roles and functions.
Work Experience
Ten years of experience in aerodrome design, construction, or modification, including supervision of architects, engineers, and contractors. Experience in government department operations, knowledge of aircraft operational characteristics, runway/taxiway/apron design, terminal building design, aerodrome lighting, related mechanical/electrical installations, surveying, air traffic forecasts, capacity analyses, and economic feasibility studies for airports. Familiarity with ICAO SARPs and the needs of developing states.
