Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for these projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To set up, organize, and operate a technical reference library for civil aviation personnel and establish an efficient system for its optimal use.
Responsibilities
Organize and operate a technical reference library for civil aviation personnel. Establish an efficient system for the best and widest possible use of the technical library. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in library work and electronic resource management. Extensive experience as a librarian in organizing and operating technical school libraries, preferably at a civil aviation authority or aviation training center. Good knowledge of relevant software applications for electronic information databases, online library resources, and intranet resources.
