ICAO Roster-Machine Readable Travel Documents (MRTD) Expert
Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for these projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To ensure that technical specifications for e-passport production conform to ICAO/ISO standards, including biometric identifiers and electronic features for the ICAO Public Key Directory (PKD) System. The role involves developing technical evaluation criteria, assessing tender proposals, and preparing evaluation reports.
Responsibilities
Ensure e-passport technical specifications align with ICAO/ISO standards for technology and security features. Develop technical evaluation criteria for tender proposals. Conduct technical evaluations of proposals and submit reports with recommendations. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of experience in implementing standards and specifications in Doc 9303 (Part 1, Vol. 1 & 2) related to Machine-Readable Travel Documents (MRTD). In-depth understanding of the ICAO MRTD Programme is essential. Adequate computer literacy and MS Office software skills are required.
