ICAO Roster-Detection Technologies and AVSEC Equipment Expert
Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for these projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To assess and improve aviation security arrangements, focusing on detection technologies and equipment. The role involves correcting deficiencies, advising on security planning, and developing guidelines and training programs to safeguard civil aviation.
Responsibilities
Assess aviation security arrangements and equipment adequacy. Correct AVSEC deficiencies and provide training. Advise on planning, organization, and development of aviation security programs and units. Develop security plans, guidelines, and documentation related to detection technologies and AVSEC equipment. Review security measures for mail, cargo, and onboard aircraft. Propose development plans and cost estimates for AVSEC equipment and training.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of professional experience in planning, organizing, and implementing security detection technologies and AVSEC equipment for civil aviation. Requires knowledge of security device principles, bomb threat and anti-hijacking procedures, and ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) related to aviation security.
