ICAO Roster-Airport Aviation Security Expert

Organizational Context

Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for Capacity Development and Implementation projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.

Job Purpose

To assess and improve aviation security arrangements and organizations in airports. This role involves identifying and correcting deficiencies, advising on security program development, and developing security plans and documentation.

Responsibilities

Assess existing airport aviation security arrangements and organizations. Correct identified aviation security deficiencies. Advise on the planning and establishment of aviation security units and programs. Develop security plans and documentation for specific airports. Review security measures for mail and air cargo. Propose organization and manpower development plans for aviation security. Organize and present training courses.

Work Experience

At least six years of experience in an airline, airport, government, or civil aviation organization with supervisory and instructional experience in air and ground security. Proven experience in planning, organizing, and implementing security measures for civil aviation, aerodromes, and facilities. Knowledge of security devices, equipment, bomb threat response, and anti-hijacking procedures. Working knowledge of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) related to Aviation Security.
