ICAO Roster-Air Traffic Services Instructor OJT/Classroom/Simulator

Organizational Context

Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for Capacity Development and Implementation projects in Civil Aviation and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.

Job Purpose

To conduct classroom lectures, laboratory exercises, and potentially assist in training counterpart instructors and developing training materials for Air Traffic Services (ATS). The role supports the development and implementation of instructional techniques and curricula for ATS training.

Responsibilities

Conduct classroom lectures and laboratory exercises. Participate in the selection and training of counterpart instructors. Assist in setting modalities and guidelines for classroom training. Revise existing curricula, syllabi, and course materials. Participate in the development and implementation of instructional techniques. Perform other related duties.

Work Experience

Extensive experience as an air traffic controller (radar/non-radar, tower/terminal/en route). Sufficient instructional experience at an ATS training center using trainers/simulators and audio-visual aids, including instruction in instructional techniques. Experience in preparing training course materials. Experience in programmed teaching techniques. Experience as an instructor in ATS training programs using ICAO documents.
