Organizational Context

Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for Capacity Development and Implementation projects in Civil Aviation and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.

Job Purpose

To design and validate flight procedures for airports and ATS routes according to ICAO specifications. This role ensures quality assurance in flight procedure design, provides training to staff, and maintains relevant databases.

Responsibilities

Design and validate flight procedures and ATS routes; review, verify, and maintain flight procedures; ensure quality assurance in design; train flight procedure designer staff; implement PNB; maintain obstacle assessment database.

Work Experience

Minimum ten years of experience in Air Navigation Services (ANS) and flight procedure design, with experience in aviation operations (pilot, navigator, or air traffic controller). Knowledge of AICM/AIXM, DTM, GIS, cartography, flight procedure designer software, quality systems, ISO standards, and ICAO SARPs and PANS.
