ICAO Roster-Air Traffic Controller - Approach Radar
Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for these projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To provide approach radar control services at selected airports, train national air traffic controllers, and ensure adherence to ICAO standards and procedures. The role involves performing ATC duties, coordinating with other units, and supervising trainees.
Responsibilities
Perform approach radar control duties, train national controllers, assess trainee performance, hand over control duties to rated nationals, and ensure ATC procedures are up-to-date and conform to ICAO requirements.
Work Experience
At least five years of experience in approach radar control at a mid-size airport, preferably with joint civil/military traffic. Experience in on-the-job training of controllers and supervisory experience are required. Familiarity with ICAO Annexes 1 and 11 and related documents is essential.
