ICAO Roster-Air Traffic Controller - Aerodrome Tower
Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for these projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To obtain aerodrome control ratings and perform tower controller duties at selected airports. The role involves training nationals in air traffic control, assessing their performance, and ensuring ATC procedures conform to ICAO requirements.
Responsibilities
Obtain aerodrome control rating, perform tower controller duties, coordinate with military controllers and other ATC units, provide on-the-job training for approach radar control, assess trainee performance, hand over duties to rated nationals while maintaining supervision, and ensure ATC procedures are up-to-date and compliant with ICAO requirements.
Work Experience
At least five years of experience in approach radar control at a mid-size airport, preferably with joint civil/military traffic. Experience in on-the-job training of controllers and supervisory experience is required. Familiarity with ICAO Annexes 1 and 11 and related documents is essential. Ratings and experience in tower and area/route radar control are advantageous.
