ICAO Roster-Dangerous Goods Expert
Organizational Context
The Field Operations Section (FOS) within ICAO's Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI) is responsible for managing technical assistance and cooperation projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits experts for these projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To provide expertise on dangerous goods regulations and their implementation within civil aviation. The role involves reviewing national frameworks, assessing policies, providing recommendations, and delivering training to ensure compliance with ICAO standards.
Responsibilities
Conduct desktop reviews of national dangerous goods regulatory frameworks and handbooks to assess effectiveness and compliance with ICAO Annex 18 and Technical Instructions. Provide reports with recommendations for improvement. Deliver training on dangerous goods transportation to civil aviation authority inspectors. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of management or supervisory experience within a civil aviation department, focusing on flight safety regulations, inspection, and certification. Detailed knowledge of international airline management and operations, particularly concerning dangerous goods transport, is required. Experience as a dangerous goods instructor is also necessary.
