ICAO Roster-Wildlife Management Expert
Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for these projects and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To provide expert advice and conduct studies on wildlife management, specifically focusing on terrestrial fauna and the risk of aircraft collision with birds. The role involves reviewing reports, assessing risks, and recommending management plans to ensure aviation safety.
Responsibilities
Review studies on terrestrial fauna and bird strike risks, analyze bird strike statistics and accident/incident reports, assess the feasibility and risks of wildlife management plans, compare risks with similar airports, and recommend further studies.
Work Experience
A minimum of ten years of professional experience in airport bird hazard studies and control program preparation is essential. Extensive experience in classifying birds by hazard to aircraft, environmental management, and dispersal methods is also required, along with awareness of ICAO documents and the ability to write concise reports.
