Organizational Context
Under the direction of the Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and closes Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. The Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts for Capacity Development and Implementation projects in Civil Aviation and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Job Purpose
To serve as an airport rescue and firefighting shift leader, ensuring readiness for emergencies, proper maintenance of equipment, and well-trained personnel. The role also involves providing on-the-job training and maintaining constant vigilance over the airport.
Responsibilities
Act as an airport rescue and firefighting shift leader. Ensure vehicles are maintained and adequately supplied. Keep firefighting personnel fit, trained, and equipped. Ensure procedures are understood and adhered to. Maintain airport watch and coordinate with other units during emergencies. Provide on-the-job training to counterparts.
Work Experience
Ten years of experience as an airport fireman, including five years as a shift leader or supervisor. Experience in on-the-job training of firemen and conducting exercises. Familiarity with airport fire and rescue vehicle maintenance, supply of extinguishing agents, and ICAO Annex 14 requirements.
