Internship - INPRO Support for Sustainable Nuclear Energy Systems and Advanced Reactor Deployment
Organizational Context
The Department of Nuclear Energy (NE) fosters the safe and efficient use of nuclear power, supporting Member States in improving nuclear power plants, fuel cycles, and waste management. It also drives innovation, develops national energy planning capabilities, and disseminates nuclear knowledge. The Division of Nuclear Power, including the INPRO Section, provides essential engineering, technological, and capacity-building support.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the International Project on Innovative Nuclear Reactors and Fuel Cycles (INPRO) in developing and implementing activities, tools, and reports. These services will assist Member States in the strategic planning and sustainability assessment of nuclear energy systems. The intern will contribute to projects involving INPRO methodologies, support the organization of Dialogue Forums, meetings, and webinars, and assist in finalizing INPRO products such as publications and web-based services. This role offers valuable exposure to INPRO's innovative approaches to nuclear energy sustainability and practical experience in an international collaborative setting.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist in implementing INPRO's programmatic activities and various tasks under staff supervision. Key responsibilities include supporting INPRO publications and technical outputs by compiling, formatting, and reviewing materials. The intern will contribute to analytical work on sustainable nuclear energy systems through background research, data collection, and analysis. They will also assist in developing and updating knowledge-sharing and capacity-building tools, such as eLearning materials and presentations. Enhancing INPRO's outreach involves supporting the creation of promotional and communication materials. Furthermore, the intern will aid in programme implementation and coordination, tracking deliverables and supporting engagement activities, and contribute to scientific and technical communication by drafting papers and briefing notes.
