Multistakeholder Partnership Specialist
Organizational Context
The FAO Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance (LEAP) Partnership is a multistakeholder initiative focused on enhancing the environmental performance of livestock supply chains while maintaining economic and social viability. It develops guidelines and methodologies for environmental assessment, providing stakeholders with tools for evidence-based policy and business strategies. The Partnership fosters collaboration among governments, the private sector, academia, NGOs, and civil society. Hosted by the FAO Animal Production and Health Division, the Secretariat ensures adherence to international best practices and provides technical and administrative support to partners, facilitating the work of Technical Advisory Groups.
Job Purpose
The incumbent will be a key member of the FAO LEAP Partnership Secretariat, offering technical and administrative support to enhance governance, coordination, knowledge sharing, outreach, and work program delivery. This role aims to advance multistakeholder collaboration for sustainable livestock and agrifood systems, emphasizing environmental assessment and performance. Responsibilities include supporting the dissemination and adoption of LEAP guidelines and tools, facilitating science-policy-practice dialogue, contributing to communication and capacity development, and strengthening engagement with diverse partners. The position will also identify and promote opportunities for sustainable livestock transformation, including digital innovation and responsible private-sector engagement.
Responsibilities
Support the daily coordination and execution of the LEAP Partnership work program, ensuring timely follow-up on actions, work plans, and deliverables. Assist in the preparation, review, editing, and dissemination of LEAP guidelines, technical reports, policy briefs, methodologies, tools, and other knowledge products. Facilitate training, technical guidance, and webinars to promote the global application of LEAP guidelines and best practices. Map stakeholders and cultivate strong relationships with LEAP Steering Committee members and partners across public, research, private, and civil society sectors. Aid in organizing and following up on meetings for the LEAP Steering Committee, Technical Advisory Groups, and other Partnership bodies. Support the organization and facilitation of technical consultations, expert meetings, workshops, and conferences involving LEAP partners and external stakeholders. Identify strategic partnership opportunities, engage with donors, prepare concept notes and project proposals, and coordinate fundraising efforts. Maintain accurate records of partners, contacts, meetings, work plans, technical outputs, and correspondence. Perform other relevant duties to support the effective operation of the Secretariat.
Work Experience
At least 1 year (Category C) or 5 years (Category B) of relevant experience in multistakeholder partnership coordination, project coordination, or management. Experience engaging with governments, research institutions, international organizations, civil society, private-sector actors, and development partners is required. Experience with environmental assessment methodologies or livestock sustainability is advantageous.
