The Associate Program Officer is part of the Division for Transition and Developed Countries (TDC) within WIPO's Department for Development Cooperation. Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The Associate Program Officer assists the Director in overseeing the Division's work program, involving work plan development, budget monitoring, and performance indicator tracking. Responsibilities include coordinating inputs for WIPO's Program and Budget, performance reports, and strategic plans. The role supports the design, implementation, and evaluation of capacity-building programs and technical assistance projects. This includes participating in and following up on WIPO meetings, providing administrative and technical support for specific IP system development projects, and contributing to partnerships with Member States and external entities. The incumbent will also monitor IP and innovation trends, prepare analytical materials, and facilitate information sharing within the Division and across WIPO sectors.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of professional experience is required, with a focus on intellectual property (IP) in national and/or international settings. Experience in international cooperation, technical assistance, capacity building, or stakeholder engagement is also desirable.
Skills
Essential skills include knowledge of project management, intellectual property systems, and the legal/cultural environments of transition and developed countries. Strong judgment, organizational, coordination, drafting, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are vital. Proficiency in digital tools and a commitment to continuous learning are also required.
