Job Purpose
The HR Officer is responsible for managing the HR program for WHO Country Office-Bangladesh. Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting performance management by monitoring appraisals and providing reports, and facilitating staff development by tracking training plans. The role involves managing recruitment processes, from drafting position descriptions to screening candidates and coordinating interviews. Contract management is also a core duty, encompassing appointments, extensions, separations, and entitlement administration, while liaising with regional and global HR units. Additionally, the HR Officer will prepare HR reports, assist with SSA and Consultant contracts, support HR outsourcing, and provide general HR administrative support, including backup for the Operations Specialist and drafting HR communications.
Work Experience
Essential: Minimum of two years of experience in human resources management within an international organization. Desirable: Experience supporting grant projects, portfolio teams, and professionals, with some exposure to performance management, staff development, and UN system entitlements.
Skills
Ability to lead an HR team and liaise effectively with various units. Strong knowledge of HR policies and practices, particularly in recruitment, performance management, staff development, and contract/entitlement administration, preferably within the WHO or UN context.
