Job Purpose

The Field Monitoring Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and executing monitoring activities within a designated coverage area to support the effective delivery of assistance packages. This role involves verifying the movement and distribution of food or non-food items, resolving routine issues, and escalating complex ones. The coordinator will gather and compile data on assistance programs, conduct analyses, and prepare reports to inform program reviews and decision-making. They will maintain contact with cooperating partners and internal stakeholders, gather feedback, and suggest improvements to field monitoring processes. Additionally, the role includes organizing meetings with community leaders and partners to discuss supply chains and distribution, assigning tasks to support staff, and providing training on WFP's monitoring tools and methods. The coordinator will also prepare field mission reports and follow emergency intervention procedures.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities involve overseeing the distribution of food and non-food items, ensuring adherence to World Food Programme (WFP) standards for quantity and quality. This includes resolving routine issues and escalating complex ones. A key function is data collection and analysis related to assistance programs, collaborating with partners to prepare reports that support program reviews and informed decision-making. Maintaining communication with cooperating partners and internal stakeholders is crucial for gathering feedback to improve services and program implementation. The role also entails suggesting enhancements to field monitoring processes and procedures for efficient program delivery. Regular meetings with community leaders and partners are organized to discuss supply chains, distribution, food entitlements, and other vital matters, fostering effective communication and efficient operations. Additionally, the position involves assigning tasks, providing guidance and training to other staff, and delivering standard training to cooperating partners on WFP operational practices and monitoring tools. This role also requires preparing field mission reports, following emergency intervention procedures for food assistance, and performing other related duties. It includes leading and accompanying technical staff, executing field activities with quality, designing monitoring tools, reporting progress, presenting results transparently, supervising resource utilization, and coordinating with local, public, and private actors to enhance cooperation and avoid duplication of efforts, all while maintaining a deep understanding of the project and its socio-cultural context to adapt actions to community needs.

Work Experience

The role requires five years of demonstrated work experience in similar activities. This includes experience in collecting data on products and program effects, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and communicating findings to management, partners, and stakeholders. Experience with WFP's monitoring and evaluation systems and standards is also desired.
