Job Purpose

By maintaining data coherence, supporting monthly reporting, consolidating planning efforts, and managing knowledge resources, the Programme Assistant directly contributes to the effective delivery of WFP's programmes and evidence-based decision-making, ultimately supporting WFP's mission to save lives and change lives.
Responsibilities
The role involves comprehensive programme support, focusing on data coherence and system management. This includes ensuring accurate programme records within corporate systems like WINGS, SCOPE, and COMET, and performing routine data checks across various platforms to maintain consistency with approved plans and budgets. The position coordinates the collection, verification, and consolidation of programme inputs for monthly country briefs and other management updates, supporting basic analysis of data related to beneficiary reach, activity progress, and expenditures. A key responsibility is maintaining a calendar of reporting deadlines and reconciling programme figures across different reporting tools to ensure alignment between narrative, beneficiary, financial, and operational data. The role also entails coordinating the consolidation and update of the Programme Unit's travel and expenditure plans, and following up on action points from meetings. Furthermore, it supports knowledge management by organizing and maintaining SharePoint repositories, ensuring documents are accessible and up-to-date, and promoting knowledge sharing. This includes managing document version control and supporting staff onboarding with updated materials. The position acts as a point of contact for operational queries, supports collaboration with internal counterparts, and performs other data management duties as required to ensure effective programme delivery and evidence-based decision-making.
Work Experience
The role requires experience in supporting programme implementation, administration, information management, reporting, planning, or data management. Proficiency in using spreadsheets, databases, and online document repositories like SharePoint for maintaining trackers, files, and dashboards is essential. Experience with corporate systems related to programmes, procurement, finance, or reporting is desirable. The candidate should also have experience compiling and reconciling data from various sources, preparing reports and management briefs, and supporting knowledge management functions such as filing systems and document control.
