Job Purpose
The Data Management Assistant will support the WFP country office in Maseru by developing and maintaining digital dashboards and data collection tools. This role is crucial for organizing, analyzing, and visualizing monitoring data to enhance its accessibility and actionability for programme staff and management. The assistant will contribute to creating simple digital monitoring survey tools, designing and maintaining interactive dashboards, and collaborating with the M&E team to ensure user-friendly and needs-aligned visualizations. Key responsibilities include developing graphs, charts, and maps for better data interpretation, identifying and communicating programme progress, gaps, and trends through dashboards, documenting functionalities, and providing basic training and support to staff on dashboard utilization. This position aims to improve data-driven decision-making and programme effectiveness.
Responsibilities
The Data Management Assistant will support the World Food Programme (WFP) country office by developing and maintaining digital dashboards and data collection tools. This role is crucial for organizing, analyzing, and visualizing monitoring data, making it more accessible and actionable for program staff and management. Key responsibilities include assisting in the creation of simple digital tools for rapid monitoring surveys and supporting the design, development, and upkeep of interactive dashboards that illustrate monitoring data, trends, and project milestones. The assistant will collaborate closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to ensure these dashboards effectively meet program needs and are user-friendly. They will be responsible for creating visual representations like graphs, charts, and maps to improve data interpretation and decision-making, and will utilize the dashboards to identify and communicate program implementation progress, identify gaps, and highlight trends. Furthermore, the role involves documenting dashboard functionalities, preparing user guides, and providing basic training and support to staff on effective dashboard utilization. The position requires at least four years of relevant experience in data management, visualization, or IT support, with proficiency in dashboard tools like Power BI or Tableau, and strong skills in data management software such as Excel or Google Sheets. Fluency in English is essential, and the ability to clearly communicate data insights to non-technical team members is highly valued.
