Job Purpose
The Cash Based Transfer (CBT) Programme Associate will provide technical and operational support for the implementation of cash-based assistance programs. This role is crucial for ensuring that resources reach vulnerable populations efficiently, transparently, and on time. Key responsibilities include strengthening beneficiary management, coordinating with local partners and stakeholders, overseeing the accurate execution of monetary or electronic transfers, and contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of program outcomes. The associate will support the preparation of proposals and reports related to CBT implementation, analyze operational effectiveness, and assist in field monitoring activities. This position aims to enhance the quality and impact of WFP's cash-based interventions, contributing to the organization's mission of achieving Zero Hunger.
Responsibilities
The role involves providing comprehensive technical and operational support for the implementation of cash-based transfer (CBT) programs. Key responsibilities include assisting in the development and execution of program activities, ensuring alignment with broader organizational policies and guidelines. This includes specialized project management support to meet established goals and adhere to WFP procedures. The position requires generating detailed reports and data analyses on aspects like food assistance needs, resource utilization, and program progress, highlighting trends and challenges while maintaining high-quality standards. Accurate and timely data recording is crucial for various technical areas, such as food assistance programs and food security analysis, ensuring information coherence for stakeholders. Collaboration with internal counterparts is essential for effective project implementation and monitoring. Furthermore, coordination with external partners, including agencies, NGOs, and public institutions, is necessary for thorough food security situation analyses and efficient food assistance delivery. The role also supports capacity building for WFP staff, cooperating partners, and national governments. It serves as a primary contact for resolving operational queries and issues, and may involve supervising and reviewing the work of support staff, offering guidance to meet agreed-upon objectives and deadlines. Adherence to emergency preparedness practices is also expected to ensure rapid response capabilities.
Work Experience
A minimum of six years of professional experience with increasing responsibilities in the relevant operational area is required. Direct experience of at least 5 years in Cash-Based Transfer (CBT) programs is desirable. Experience working with technical teams, contributing to program implementation, and possessing basic financial knowledge related to electronic transfers and reconciliation is beneficial. Familiarity with information management systems like SCOPE, data analysis, and field experience in CBT projects are also advantageous.
